Swap Finishes!!

Y'all. I may have signed up for too many swaps lately.... lol. I definitely did!! But no worries, I'm getting myself together and I have two already shipped, two FFO'd today, and "only" four more to go!! Woohoo!!

First up, in order of deadline, is the Dixie Samplar Merry Unbirthday Pynkeep Exchange in the Dixie Samplar Exhange Group on Facebook. It's run by the incomparable Terri of Dixie Samplar and I'm there because Lynda Jo, Pretty Southern, (one of my absolute FAVES) showed me her exchanges!

So, after reading about my partner's preferences, I decided to go with Fancey Blackett, By the Light of the Moon by Pineberry Lane:

But because that is WAY to big as charted (153x97 I think) to be a pynkeep, I "condensed" everything and stitched it 1/1 with the called for DMC on a mystery bright green fabric (per my partner's preference and I came up with this:

And to make it more "Bendy" (lol), I FFO'd it onto a decorative metal butter dish from the thrift store and added some lace that I picked up at an estate sale:

I have some GREAT clay beads from Vikki, StitchNButton on Flossstube and QnVikki on Etsy, and I'm going to make her ask her to teach me how to turn them into pins. Yay! This one is due on May 25 so I'm well ahead of schedule, yay!

The second swap that I finished is my biscornu for The Great Biscornu Swap hosted by Jennifer Upton.

For this swap, the theme is Spring and I'm stitching the May Butterfly Biscornu from Tiny Modernist on Etsy:

Mine is stitched on 30 count Apple Blossom linen (from Wichelt? I'm not sure!) in MOSTLY the called for colors. I used DMC 991 in place of 993 and 3712 and 3706 in place of the called for 3700s for the pinks because I had certain colors handy and other colors not handy. Here is how mine ended up:

How CUTE are these little birds?!?

I used alternating dark pink and dark green beads around the edges. It's the first time I've done that and it went really well so I'll definitely do it again.

This swap is due June 1, so I'm quite ahead of schedule. I need to gather some extras and get everything wrapped prettily and packaged up and sent off to my partner.

Next up is a bit of selfish stitching before I go on to my garden themed ATC for the Facebook Cross Stitch ATC and Card SAL group and my Brenda Gervais for the Midwest Cross Stitchers' First EVER Secret Stitcher Exchange!!

Thanks for stopping by and keep sprinkling that stitchy kindness! <3

FFOs: none

Finishes:

  • Fancey Blackett, By the Light of the Moon by Pineberry Lane:
I stitched it once for a swap:

And it was so much fun that I stitched it again for myself:

Those are both on the same fabric, but I stitched the brighter green one with one strand of the called for DMC over one thread and the second one I stitched 2/2 and dipped the fabric in Tan Rit first. I love them both!!

WIPs (Works in Progress)
  • My first WIP this week is the Sally Spencer Sampler, started on May 1:

Here is what it looked like last week:

And here is what it looks like now:

I'm stitching with none of the called for colors on a random piece of 25 count greenish linen. The full conversion is on my Stitch With Me #22 Show Notes post.

  • The next WIP for this week is my HAED, Alice Under the Dreaming Tree:

Here is what it looked like last time, with two full pages plus a bit completed:

And here is where I am now:

That's a little under 5000 stitches so far on page 3. I'm stitching 2/1 tent stitch with DMC on 28 count Lambswool Lugana from Wichelt (purchased at Hobby Lobby). The goal for this month is to catch up on the 'By the Numbers' challenges in the FB Full Coverage Fanatics group and I've already caught up with January and February, YAY!

  • My last WIP this week is a new start, and it's for The Great Biscornu Swap hosted by Jennifer Upton. I'm stitching the Butterfly Biscornu from Tiny Modernist on Etsy, it's part of her monthly Biscornu series:
I'm in pretty good shape; my colors are a bit different because I used the DMC I had on hand rather than hunting down the called for colors:

I'm stitching this on 30 count Apple Brown linen that was a gift.

Thrift Store Finds:
  • I went to an Estate Sale and found a great box:

I'm going to stitch up Summer Splendor by Barbie's Petal Pusher: (click on the pic to buy it!)

and finish it into a small for the exchange at Stitch Con as seen on Michelle R's (farm girl) May Retreat Video. Or I'm going to have JoLyn at Acorns & Threads finish it for me...
  • Some beautiful lace trimmed pieces:
  • And a great bag of trim:

Stitch With Me #23 Show Notes

Happy Sunday (again)! Today on my Stitch With Me video I worked on the May Butterfly Biscornu  from Tiny Modernist. (click on the pic to purchase)

How cute is this biscornu?! Mine is gong to be a little bit large as I'm stitching it on

At the start of the video:

At the end of the video:

I'm stitching this with ALMOST the called for colors, I just used DMC that was similar to the called for if the called for wasn't in my box, savvy?

Swaps:

What is an ATC?
It's a 2.5" x 3.5" piece of art, any medium. Here are a few amazing ones:

And here is the thing that I found to display them:
