Flosstube #107 Show Notes: That's No Moon...

Happy Saturday, May the Fourth!!

Best New Thing:
  • TWINNING WITH KITTEN STITCHER!!

We both get the Smuggler's Bounty Box from Funko via Amazon. This month's box was Chewbacca themed. RIP Peter Mayhew. It was timely. Click on the picture to shop for the Smuggler's Bounty Box with my Amazon Affiliate link.

Every month Trish chooses one lucky wishlist and sends you something free!! Also, email your wishlist to me at bendystitchy@gmail.com and I'll send someone a freebie each month too!!

For April, Angela Gibson will find this in her mailbox:

Click on the pic to buy it from Trish! It made my wishlist too.

WIPs (Works in Progress):
Or, as I affectionately call them, Josephine and Humphrey. Here is where I was last week:

And this week...

Not much stitching at all this week; I was focused on Mignon and BBD Quaker Garden. But, she's a marathon!

  • I also worked on Blackbird Designs Quaker Garden:

Here is where it was last time:

And here is where it is now:

I keep it in a full sized sleeve from Love You More Studios, use code BENDY10 for your discount on regular sleeves and code USETHEFORCE for a 20% discount on all Star Wars and Space Sleeves this weekend!

Here is where it was last time, not bad:

And here it is now:

I put in the balance of the 300 stitches that I needed to finish my Magical Stitches Homework for Year 3 Week 9. I can't wait to work on this more now that I've held it in my hands!

My bag is from MKissaCreations on Etsy and my floss holder is from Suzette, the Primitive Stitcher on Flosstube. You can get the floss organizers and also stitching journals in her Facebook Group HERE.

Plans:
  • Because today is May the Fourth, I MUST get out my Star Wars project, Leia & Han from Tilton Crafts (click on the picture to buy):

Here is where I am with this:

I'm stitching this on a piece of very slubby thrift store linen that I bought a BOLT of. It works for non-full coverage pieces well, but not for this. I'm going to restart it on a piece of 20 count Aida from Silkweaver. I think I'll be much happier with that!

Knitting:
  • The Simple yet effective cowl from Tin Can Knits on Ravelry (I'm michellebendy on Ravelry!!)
This is available as a FREE Ravelry Download HERE. Anne P of Wooly Wonka Fibers chose this for me and I'm using her Aeslin DK SW Merino in Skygazer.

Here is where I was last time:

And here is where I am now:

I think I'm about halfway done? And I'm OBSESSED!!!

Thrifting:
  • So. Much. Thrifting:

Purchases: Not many at ALL this week!
  • I got my Beltane shipment from Anne P's Wooly Wonka Fibers Celtic Year Club:
You use it to make this FABULOUSNESS, La Bealtaine by Janelle Martin on Ravelry:

This is above my current knitting pay grade, but I can either keep it till I learn these skills, or farm it out to a friend to stitch! =D

  • My only other purchase this week was my Star Wars Smuggler's Bounty Box:

I'd like to talk about:
  • Nobody this week. =/

Books:
  • No finishes this week, but I'll have one for sure next week!

It's the last Flosstube of April and you know what that means....

Best New Thing:

I got my page finish AND THEN SOME in April!! Woohoo!!

  • I also worked on the Dimensions Kit, Going to Market, for #MagicalStitches extra credit: a chart produced in the 1990s or before:
Here is where she was last time, this is all work done by Diana, Itiskismet_stitches, and passed on to me:

And here is where she is now:

I keep it in a full sized sleeve from Love You More Studios, use code BENDY10 for your discount. Needleminders from Simply Serving (the Owl Post wax seal) and 1884 Stitchery (the spoon). I'll also be using this for the 1000 stitches Yearly EC assignment: 7 Tasks, because Going to Market is a TASK.

Here is where it was last time, not bad:

And here it is now:

My bag is from MKissaCreations on Etsy and my floss holder is from Suzette, the Primitive Stitcher on Flosstube. You can get the floss organizers and also stitching journals in her Facebook Group HERE.

Plans:

    • First is Black'd Skie by The Primitive Needle:
Here is where I am with this:

Here is where I am now:

I expect to get well over 2000 stitches in on this in May and June.

Thrifting:

  • We went thrifting but I didn't buy anything!! WHAT?!?! It's true.

Purchases: Just a few....

Product review:

I'd like to talk about:
  • Nobody this week. =/

Books:
  • I finished listening to The Ship Who Won by Anne McCaffrey.
I have to admit that I did not love this book as much as I loved it when I was 15. I read it for the #MagicalStitches task: reread a book. It's OKAY. A little patriarchical for 37 year old me to avoid scoffing at. But a solid 3/5 and a quick listen on audiobook.
