Flosstube #106 Show Notes: It's Gonna Be May

It's the last Flosstube of April and you know what that means....

Best New Thing:
  • Ode to Josephine mug:
I know this came from Etsy. I don't know the exact store but I know it's FABULOUS!!!
I'm not affiliated at all, just OBSESSED!!! Go check out all of her gorgeous stuff.

FFO -- none this week

Finishes:
  • Page three DONE on Josephine!!

WIPs (Works in Progress):
Or, as I affectionately call them, Josephine and Humphrey. Here is where I was last week:

And this week, I managed a LOT of stitching!!

I got my page finish AND THEN SOME in April!! Woohoo!!

  • I also worked on the Dimensions Kit, Going to Market, for #MagicalStitches extra credit: a chart produced in the 1990s or before:
Here is where she was last time, this is all work done by Diana, Itiskismet_stitches, and passed on to me:

And here is where she is now:

I keep it in a full sized sleeve from Love You More Studios, use code BENDY10 for your discount. Needleminders from Simply Serving (the Owl Post wax seal) and 1884 Stitchery (the spoon). I'll also be using this for the 1000 stitches Yearly EC assignment: 7 Tasks, because Going to Market is a TASK.

Here is where it was last time, not bad:

And here it is now:

My bag is from MKissaCreations on Etsy and my floss holder is from Suzette, the Primitive Stitcher on Flosstube. You can get the floss organizers and also stitching journals in her Facebook Group HERE.

Plans:
  • For the May/June Extra Credit tasks for Magical Stitches I've been able to make TWO projects work with all of the tasks.
    • First is Black'd Skie by The Primitive Needle:
Here is where I am with this:

Here is where I am now:

I expect to get well over 2000 stitches in on this in May and June.

Knitting:
  • The Simple yet effective cowl from Tin Can Knits on Ravelry (I'm michellebendy on Ravelry!!)
This is available as a FREE Ravelry Download HERE. Anne P of Wooly Wonka Fibers chose this for me and I'm using her Aeslin DK SW Merino in Skygazer.

Thrifting:

  • We went thrifting but I didn't buy anything!! WHAT?!?! It's true.

Purchases: Just a few....

Product review:

I'd like to talk about:
  • Nobody this week. =/

Books:
  • I finished listening to The Ship Who Won by Anne McCaffrey
I have to admit that I did not love this book as much as I loved it when I was 15. I read it for the #MagicalStitches task: reread a book. It's OKAY. A little patriarchical for 37 year old me to avoid scoffing at. But a solid 3/5 and a quick listen on audiobook.

Instagram Auction Items!!
  • Auction will take place soon through Saturday, March 9 at 6am PST on @michellebendy on Instagram. Here's an amazing diagram describing how to bid:
Under the picture of the item that you'd like to purchase, you put your bid in $1 increments AND you tag the person who bid above you. Only the person who bid DIRECTLY above you!

There are more detailed pictures on my Instagram, but for now, here's a peek at this week's items:

  • I have a Dimensions Chickadeees in Lilac kit. This kit is new and unopened!

  • Teresa of Diddly Daddle Designs on Etsy donated a bag set to us!! This fabric is hard to find and may be out of print, I'm no expert. But LOOK AT THE BAGS!!!

  • Our friend Jodi has kitted up Three Little Kittens from Ink Circles with all of the called for DMC and a 16 count dirty Aida! SO CUTE!

  • Last but not least is a GORGEOUS handpained needlepoint canvas of a Cloisonne Frog, complete with all of the DMC Pearle Cottons you'd need!
