WIPs (Works in Progress):
- First up, of course, my evening project, Contessa with Squid from Heaven and Earth Designs:
Or, as I affectionately call them, Josephine and Humphrey. Here is where I was last week:
Since the last video, I finished my 1200 stitches for the April Full Coverage Fanatics stitch challenge and I'm well into my 1200 for May.
I'm stitching this on a piece of 20 ct Aida from eBay. I just typed in "hand dyed Aida" and came up with THIS beauty!! Try it!
And, just for the throwdown record, here is where Lolly is with this:

And here is where it is now:
I CANNOT overstate how dear this project is to me!! I put in 1045 stitches for the Magical Stitches Quidditch Match and I could not be happier with my progress. This is a borrowed chart and I REALLY want to finish it this year, so I changed the date on the tombstone from 1727 to 2019. It's happening.
It's on 40 count Prim Fabric of the Month from Ship's Manor. GORGEOUS!
- I also stitched just a little bit on Brocade Boulevard from Stone Street Stitchworks on Etsy:
Here is where it was last time:
And here it is now:
I worked on this project one day at lunch this week. I just didn't have a lot of travel stitching time. But all progress is good progress.
My bag is from MKissaCreations on Etsy and my floss holder is from Suzette, the Primitive Stitcher on Flosstube. You can get the floss organizers and also stitching journals in her Facebook Group HERE.
Plans:
- There was a Pseudo-Start! The Universal Monsters SAL by the Witchy Stitcher:
My girl Chelsea started it for me on 20 ct Aida from Jodyri Designs. It. Is. FANTASTIC!!!
I love Chelsea and her two stitches. <3 <3
- Because Lolly issued a #crossstitchthrowdown, I'm going to be working on Halloween Luck from Glendon Place:

I love that picture because it REALLY shows the progress I've been making in my technique!! You can see the first set of purls was ROUGH. The second got better, and the third is looking good!!
I'm carrying it around in a bag from Evertote. By Caroline from Off the Grid Needlearts/Fibre Friends. Her shop is on a break right now, but follow it anyway!!
Thrifting:(none this week!)
Purchases:
- Two cones of DMC 3371. It was supposed to be one to split with Emmy and Chelsea for our Contessas.... but oops!
- I found the Happy Hearts Sampler from Birds of a Feather on eBay!!
It's a FULL kit and already well underway!! I can't wait to finish this!! WOOHOO!!
Product Review:
- I got a HUGE lot of goodies from mybobbin.com! Three kits and FIVE pdfs!! They came fast and they're all gorgeous.
I'd like to talk about:
- Nobody this week. =/
- I finished Dust and Shadow by Lindsay Faye:
Really good story. I gave her 4.5/5 stars. Ms Faye wrote Sherlock Holmes REALLY well. He was likeably pretentious.
